Aroma of Shrewsbury

In 1981, the Turner family were desperate to find some freshly roasted coffee to put into a cafetiere they purchased while on holiday. With specialty coffee being hard to come by they decided to do it themselves. Once securing a shop to rent in St Mary’s Place, which is where the store is still located today, the Turners dedicated themselves to learning the tricks of the trade.

The Turners help all of their customers by providing 43 years worth of knowledge and a family’s take on working together to achieve perfection.

The Shropshire Roast is more than just a coffee – it’s a beloved local institution and the blend that put Aroma of Shrewsbury on the map. It has been the best seller since 1981, proving that the classics truly endure.

Fun Fact: In 1981 the Aroma Team realized that the smell of the coffee being freshly roasted was the driving factor for the getting people to come in the store, Barrie and Andrew plumbed the ventilation pipe of the roaster to come out under the steps of the shop and out onto the street. The smell was glorious but short lived. Unfortunately, according to a police officer, this was an obstruction to the road. It was sadly removed.

Ever wonder why your favourite coffee shop’s brew tastes so different from the one you make at home?  The secret isn’t just in the beans – it’s in the brewing method.  Go to the Aroma website for the details of the perfect brew.
