FAQs
-
A good starting point is to talk to someone in the Shop. Everyone will be happy to answer questions. If you leave your contact details in the Shop, or email the Chair, we can have a chat and see what you would like to do.
-
Nothing more than a friendly smile and a willingness to give it a go! You can let us know what you feel happy doing. Everyone gets personal training and there is a comprehensive Volunteers’ Handbook to refer to.
-
Don’t worry - most of our Volunteers hadn't either! All Volunteers are trained by Anthea and Rose and you would never be left on your own unless you were confident. There is also a very handy guide to the till at the counter.
-
Not at all! We have volunteers from several surrounding villages, as well as those living here in Hopesay Parish.
-
It is really up to you! Most of our volunteers have regular shifts of 2 hours, once or twice each week.
-
That’s fine. We need stand-ins and we have a pool of volunteers we rely on when our regulars are away or unable to make their shifts.
-
That’s great! There are lots of other jobs that keep the Shop running smoothly. We can talk about what you would like to do.
